The series of bas-reliefs was created in 1946 by the Soviet sculptor Elena Yanson-Manizer for the Dobryninskaya metro station in Moscow shortly after the end of the Great Patriotic War. The bas-reliefs reflect the ideas of unity and cultural diversity of the peoples of the USSR, reflecting traditional scenes of world labor and ethnic traditions of the union republics.
